ALL LEAGUE POSITIONS AND PRIZES BECOME OFFICIAL

ONCE POSTED ON THIS WEB-SITE

OLD RULES

1.   To participate in league, players must properly register (with an actual full and complete name) as called for on the Merit Video Game machine at their favorite participating location.  All Merit Tournamaxx rules as found on the official Merit Tournamaxx site concurrently apply to all Missouri Megamaxx League play rules.  League is played on one type of game throughout each six week league session, for current game selection information, check the game machine or this web site.

During each six week League period, players compete to test their skills against all other league players who choose to join the league from approximately 200 locations in Missouri.  Players log in at will and may compete as often as they like.  Each players average of their best five scores are recorded for their position in the league's overall ranking and location ranking as well.  All league competition is played on video games and are games of skill.  To enhance the "skill" factor of the competition, players are  required to compete in league at least five times in order to achieve an average and to eliminate the chance of one fluke game unfairly catapulting them in the league standings.  Again, each player's score in the league is based upon their best five individual game scores.  Player's may continue to compete during the league as many times as they like, in order to achieve a higher "best five average score".

Each time a player competes in the league they have two opportunities to win league prizes.   Players are simultaneously competing for two separate league prize funds, 1) a high score in the location where they compete and, 2) a position in the top 100 in the "Network" which includes all of the players from about 200 locations.

A player may earn a location league prize and or a Missouri Mega-Maxx "Network" league prize by achieving one of the highest (average of best five) league scores.  A player must compete at least five times to establish an average.  After the initial five efforts, their score can only improve if they achieve a better score than one of their previous best five.  Once a player competes in the league five times, their score can not go down, a lower score will not effect the average because the system continues to track only the best five scores.

Depending upon the skill of the player, there is an opportunity to earn a portion of the nearly $9,000.00 "Network" league prize fund with $1500.00 available to the Network's League Champion during each six week league period, and lesser amounts available all the way to $30.00 for 100th place during each six week league period.  The "Networks" top 100 players will earn money as outlined on the game machine's add screen or on this site.

1a.   Each Missouri Mega-Maxx league play cost $1.00.  From each dollar: fifty cents pays the normal cost to play or use the game. The other fifty cents; is retained for the the two separate league prize funds.  From the fifty cents: one half or 25 cents is refunded to the location owner to provide prizes for the top three players in the location, i.e. The Location's League prize fund.    The other 25 cents is needed to pay for league administration and to fund the "Network League" cash prizes.

1b.   All location level prizes are paid by the location owner.  NOTE: The location is returned the locations prize fund money at the time of each collection visit by their machine owner.  The collection cycles may not match with each league ending date so players may be required to wait a few days until the next collection visit to receive their location prize following a league session.  It is up to the location to pay the location level league prizes at their leisure.

Location level league prizes are distributed on a 50/30/20 basis as follows: 50% of is paid toward first place, 30% is paid toward second place and 20% is paid toward third place.   Location owners may choose to issue gift certificates or food vouchers in their business or other options, please ask your location for their specific location's league prize details.  Again, Game owner/operators will refund all location league prize funds (the 25 cents per play) to the location on the regular collection cycles as have been previously determined by game owner/operators.  Locations owners are responsible for providing their prizes to their  locations league winners at such time as the owner chooses.  It is the Location Owner's responsibility to post or otherwise inform their players of their policy regarding prizes.

1c.    The location league prize fund will grow by 25 cents with each league play in a location.  The more league participation in your favorite location, the bigger the location league prize will be.   Players can check the "Location League Prize" screen on the game to determine how much play there has been at the location and on the game.  Players can also check the "Location Prize" screen on the game to determine when the machine last connected to the main server in order to confirm that their league standings within the "Network" are current.  Machines that do not connect to the main server for prolonged periods may void all play so if your machine has not recently connected, alert the location owner or management immediately.

2.    In order to promote enough play to cover basic cost of providing the online service necessary for overseeing the league, each location is required to have a minimum of 100 total league plays during any six week league session.  Should a location fail to achieve the minimum amount of 100 plays, their players become ineligible for the "Network" league prizes.  If a location has less than 100 league plays, the players in that location are not eligible to win any "Network" league prizes.

3.      Players are only eligible to earn network league prize's for one (1), position in the Missouri Mega-Maxx  League Network, first place, second place, third place, etc.   Players can only earn one network league prize.  If a player is found to have competed under multiple names in a league cycle, they will only receive the prize for their highest finishing position with all other positions forfeited.  Players are allowed to compete at and for multiple location league prizes. (see #4).

3.a.    (PRIZE PAYOUTS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME.

Prizes are for the highest scores in the entire network for each online league session with at least forty thousand (40,000) plays.

There must be 40,000 plays during each league session in the entire network or there may be proportionately smaller prizes for all positions 2nd through 100.   In case of such an occurrence (less than 40,000 league plays) 1st place prize will not change but 2nd -100th may, a report of the exact amount of Network league play will be provided to all other winners with their proportionately reduced prize amounts.

4.       Players may compete in league at as many locations as they wish, but can only earn one network league position prize. A player can win first in the Network and first in Joes Bar but can not ALSO earn second and third etc. in the "Network".

5.      EXAMPLE: A Player may take first place at Pioneer Lounge and first place in TP's Bar.  This is O-K, but wherever this player falls in the network is the only "network" prize they will receive..

6.     All "NETWORK" league prize checks are delivered to the location where the Merit Industries Data shows as the player's "Home location".    That is the location where the player competed at the most often during the league session.    That information is listed as the "Home location" on the posting of winner's chart and on the games at the locations.   Network league prize checks are normally processed within one week of the league's ending date.  They are then sent to the game owner/operator to be hand delivered to the "Home Location" of each league winner.

Players may check the www.momegamaxx.com web-site a few days after each league session ends to determine their position in the official and final league standings.  Checks will be delivered to their "Home Location" shortly thereafter assuming W-9s have been properly provided where necessary.

IMPORTANT:  It will normally take forty eight hours after a league ends for all machines to connect, so that the official league winner posting can be done.  This amount of time is needed in order to allow all machines to share final data with and from the main Merit Industries server.   Due to the fact that there are sometimes malfunctions caused from equipment failures or since there are multiple game operators involved who may accidentally move a game before all data has been sent, and or other technical issues, none of which are controlled by the Missouri Mega Maxx League officials, once the winners are posted on this site, it is final and we do not make changes.  We will always wait 48 hours to allow all machines to connect, but if they do not actually do that we are unable to know.  Players and Location Owners should help by checking the "Location Prize" screen on the game to determine when the machine last connected to the main server in order to confirm their standings within the "Network" are as current as possible.  If the games has not connected for several days, it should be reported to the game owner.  Prolonged machine connection failures may void all play.

6.a.    Should a prize check become lost, or otherwise misplaced, the Missouri Mega-Maxx officials will reprint the prize checks after notification, less $20.00,  due to a check cancellation bank fee.  To inquire about a prize check ALERT your location owner to contact the game owner.

Approximately four or five days after each Missouri Mega-Maxx league ends,  All network league prize winners will be posted here, on this site www.momegamaxx.com .

League players who earn any combination of network prizes during a calendar year totaling in excess of $599.00 must mail a properly completed and signed W-9 tax form to the Missouri Mega-Maxx League officials at     P.O. Box 40 Sullivan, Mo. 63080.  The completed W-9 must be received  within seven (7) days of league winner postings,     It is the responsibility of all players to know if they have earned in excess of $599.00 year to date and proactively supply a properly completed W-9 to the league office.  The W-9 must be received as an original (no fax) by officials no later than ten days after posting of winners, or the prize may become forfeited.  Any player who has provided a completed W-9 during an earlier league in any calendar year is not required to duplicate the process until the next calendar year.

Participation in league and  or acceptance of any league prize  indicates acceptance of all league rules.

Note; the U.S. Internal Revenue Service mandates that any individual who annually receives $600 or more in prizes must be provided a 10-99 at the end of the  calendar year.  In order to do that, we must have a properly completed W-9 for each such player on file.  Missouri Mega-Maxx League officials will acquire data from Merit Industries concerning how much money was spent by any such player to compete in the leagues.   We will provide a copy of that information along with the 10-99 at the end of the year for each player who earns more than $600.00.  It is the player's responsibility to determine if he/she owes income tax or not.  Players are advised to discuss the matter with their tax advisor when filing their annual tax return.
