1a. How you are ranked.  To establish your average/ranking and for prize winning eligibility, each player must play a contest game at least five times during the monthly event. During each month-long session, players compete - to test their skills against all other players who choose to join the contest nationwide.  Players may compete as often as they like during each monthly contest but they must compete at least five times to acquire an average for ranking.  Each player's average of their best five scores are recorded for their position in the ranking.  All competition is conducted on Merit video trivia machines and all games used in competition are laboratory tested and proven games of skill.  Players are  required to compete at least five times - to enhance the "skill" factor of the competition.  This five time play requirement - eliminates the chance of one fluke game unfairly catapulting a player in the standings.  Again, each player's score is based upon their best five individual game scores.  Player's may continue to compete during the month as many times as they like, in order to achieve a higher "best five game average score".   Once a player competes five times - their score can not go down.  A lower score will not effect a players average - because the system continues to track only their best five scores.  After the initial five efforts, their score can only improve.  When a player achieves a better score than one of their previous best five scores - their average improves.

1b.  What can you win?  Each time a player participates in the contest they have three ways to win prizes.   Players are simultaneously competing for three separate prize groups. Click on "info" above, then "prizes" to see the current prizes that are available or see the ad screens on the machines.

1c.    How are the prize winners determined?  Click on "info" above then "prizes" to see the current prize ads which are also shown on the machines.  Generally speaking; the ads should explain how the prizes winners are determined, but due to limited space on the machine ads, which limit the amount of verbiage to be placed on the screens, the following is intended to help add some clarity.

"Network Rank":   These prizes are determined by the highest ranking players from all players who participate in the contest during the contest period.

"Location High Score Prizes":    These prizes are a consolation level of prizes which are determined by a selection process of random locations which had participation in the contest during the contest period.  The "Location High Score Prizes"; location selection process is done after the end of each contest period.

"Spot Position Prizes":    These prizes are another consolation level of prizes.  The "Spot Position Prize" positions are selected prior to the beginning of the contest and the winners of those prizes are determined by the final posted standings after the contest period ends.  The players who are in the "Spot Position Prize" positions after the final standing are posted are the winners of those prizes.

2.   What does it cost?  All Club Lucky machines are priced to give 6 credits for $1.  Each contest play in the club Lucky contest cost at least 4 credits.  Note:  In some areas there are additional in-house, local or regional prizes which are simultaneously offered and competed for within the same game play.  In these areas; the credits per play will be higher to help fund the additional local level prizes.  Please see the machine in your favorite location for more details about the local prizes (where available).

3.      Some restrictions.  Players may not compete under multiple names.  Players can win multiple prizes from one contest, but any scores achieved by one person under multiple log-in names will not be allowed or combined.  If a player is found to have competed under multiple names in a contest, they will only receive the prize for their highest finishing position with all other positions forfeited.  Players are allowed to compete at and for multiple location high scores and or location level prizes. (see # 4, 5 and 6 below).

3a.   "MONTHLY" PRIZES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE FROM MONTH TO MONTH.  Some prize substitutions may become necessary depending upon product availability at time of prize disbursment.

4.      You can compete for prizes at multiple locations.   Players may compete at as many locations as they wish but can only earn one network position. A player can win a position such as 10th place in the National ranking and may be first place in Joes Bar but cannot ALSO earn any other places in the National ranking.  See # 3 above.

FURTHER EXAMPLE: A Player may take first place at Pioneer Lounge and first place in TP's Bar.  This is O-K, but only one place is allowed in the Club Lucky National ranking.

5.   How prizes are awarded?  All prizes for Club Lucky National competition is awarded by Club Lucky.   Prizes are distributed by shipment to the local machine owner/operator.  The local machine owner/operator will deliver the prizes to the location where the  player - played the most.  Players who win prizes valued in excess of $599 are required to provide a W-9 for tax law purposes.

Machines that do not connect to the Merit Industries main server for prolonged periods will void some or all play.  If your machine has not recently connected, alert the location owner / management immediately and ask them to contact the machine owner/operator.

You can verify the last connection by looking at the machine's Tournamaxx log in page.

All  prizes are delivered to the location where the Merit Industries Data records system shows as the player's "Home location".   The player's home location in that system is determined by the location where the player competed the most often during the contest period.  That information is listed as the "Home location" on the machine at the location and on the posting of winner's chart herein.  Prizes are normally processed within one week of the contest ending date.  They are then sent to the local machine owner/operator to be hand delivered to the "Home Location" of each winner.  Total elapsed time for prize delivery can be as much as three or four weeks following the contest.

Players should check this site, a few days after each contest ends; www.clubluckygroup.com, to find their position in the official and final standings.  Prizes will be delivered to your "Home Location" as soon as possible following all drawings - assuming W-9s have been properly provided where necessary.

5a.    Allow three to four weeks for prize delivery - in some cases.   Note: It can take three (3) weeks or more to get all prizes delivered to your home location.  Due to the drawing process which is held at least one week after the end of each contest, the time involved in shipping prizes to the local operator, and then finally the local operator getting the prize delivered to your home location, it can easily take three weeks or more.  Most operators visit their locations on a bi-weekly schedule.  If the prizes are received at the local operator's office - the day after the operator visited your home location, it can add another two full two weeks to the delivery of the prize.  In all, it can take three weeks or more.

Statistics can be delayed or lost.    IMPORTANT:  It will normally take forty eight hours after a contest ends for all machines to connect.  The official ranking/winner posting - cannot be done until all machines have communicated at least twice.  Communications with Merit's server is conducted at night.  Two days are needed - to allow all machines to share final data with the server and to receive the computed results back from the server as other machines make contact as well.  Sometimes there are  malfunctions caused by equipment failures or extreme weather.  There are multiple machine owner/operators involved and occasionally an owner/operator may accidentally move a machine before all data has been sent, or other mechanical/technical issues may impede data transfer to and from all machines and Merit's server.  None of these factors are controlled by the Club Lucky officials.  Due to these factors, after each contest ends and then another 48 hours passes, the winners are then posted on this site.  Once posted, all standings are then final - we cannot make changes.  We will always wait at least 48 hours to allow all machines to connect, but if they do not actually do that - we are unable to wait and the Merit system will not allow more statistics to be collected.  Players and Location Owners can help by checking the machine's last connection information on the machine.  The "last connection time and date" are posted on the Tournamaxx page/screen on the machine.  Following any contest ending date; help us to ensure all data was transferred - by looking for yourself and notifying the location management about any lack of connection.  Often times, the machine can be turned off and then back on - it will reboot and make a connection.  Prolonged machine connection failures void all uncollected data/play.  It is extremely important for players and location owners to help on this issue!

Players who earn any combination of prizes during a calendar year totaling in excess of $599.00 must provide a properly completed and signed W-9 tax form to Club Lucky officials or the local game machine operator.    W-9 must be received as an original (no fax or copies) or the prize may become forfeited.  Any player who has provided a completed W-9 during any calendar year is not required to duplicate the process until the next calendar year.

Participation in contest and or acceptance of any prize indicates acceptance of all contest rules.

Note; the U.S. Internal Revenue Service mandates that any individual who annually receives $600 or more in prizes must be provided a 10-99 at the end of the  calendar year.  In order to do that, we must have a properly completed W-9 for each such player on file.   It is the player's responsibility to determine if he/she owes income tax or not.  Players are advised to discuss the matter with their tax advisor when filing their annual tax return
